Anzolo Fuga
1914 Murano – 1998 ?
Nach seinem Grafikstudium am Instituto Statale d'Arte Carmini in Venedig 1934–39 baute er die dortige Flachglasabteilung auf. Gemeinsam mit seinem Bruder Giuseppe führte er 1943–55 ein Flachglas-Atelier. Seine Entwürfe waren geprägt durch profane und sakrale, figürliche, manchmal farblich verfremdete Darstellungen. Zwischen 1955 und 1984 übernahm er die Leitung des Ateliers und erhielt zahlreiche internationale Auftragsarbeiten, die er häufig im historisierendem Stil mit Schwarzlotmalerei kombinierte. Fuga war 1948 auf der XXIV. Biennale in Venedig sowie auf der X. Triennale in Mailand vertreten. 1949–1972 Direktor der Scuola Serale per Vetrai Abate Zanetti in Murano.

Uncoloured and orange glass. Of cylindrical shape, wavy rim. The lower part of the body with three ribbons of smelted murrines of green and black coloured glass.
Probably part of the decoration of the Shah of Persia.
Two minor chips to the rim, minimal scratches to the rim.
H. 30,5 cm.
