Pierre Bonnard
1867 Fontenay-aux-Roses – 1947 Le Cannet/Cannes
1885 Beginn eines Jurastudiums, schreibt sich gleichzeitig an der Académie Julian in Paris ein. Wird Mitglied der Künstlergruppe "Nabis". 1889 Aufnahme in die Ecole des Beaux-Art, wo er auf Edouard Vuillard trifft. 1891 im "Salon des Indépendants" erstmalig mit Gemälden vertreten. Gibt die juristische Laufbahn auf. Ab 1926 ständiger Wohnsitz im südfranzösischen Le Cannet.
